The five suites are refined and comfortable, carefully furnished and stylishly fitted by Ms Olivia Lotti, the owner, for guests to be lavishly accommodated at La Ghiaia Estate. Two suites are located on the upper floor of the main building and are elegantly appointed in keeping with French maisons-de-charme style. Three suites are housed in separate buildings surrounded by a verdant garden: the ideal retreat for lovers of peace and privacy. All the rooms feature classical vintage furniture, with great care for details and a particularly cosy atmosphere, to suit the requirements of the most demanding modern travellers and tourists. The facilities and amenities available in each suite include satellite TV, minibar, bathtub and shower, safe, telephone, air-conditioning and heating system. Yet guests will also greatly appreciate the details that make accommodation most comfortable, such as precious linen, soft bathrobes and slippers, as well as finely decorated chandeliers and bathroom accessories.

Lunch and dinner are served in the tasting room of the winery. Every morning the long bar is laid for a rich buffet breakfast close to the tables and a fireplace. The ambience is plain yet elegant, in keeping with the overall warm and friendly atmosphere of La Ghiaia. Inside the old winery or while comfortably resting on the soft sofas in the gazebo, guests can pamper their palates with the wines and olive oil organically produced within the estate.

Guests have free access to the well-equipped gym & fitness room with qualified personal trainers available upon request. A pleasant jogging track surrounds the estate. The staff are also pleased to arrange private transfer to nearby wellness centres, swimming pools and tennis courts.

Strategically set at the mouth of Val di Magra, Sarzana is a convenient crossroads to reach any destination on the Ligurian Eastern Riviera or the Upper Tuscan coastline in just a few minutes. The historic medieval centre of Sarzana is really attractive and lies between the sea and the breathtaking mountain scape of the Apuan Alps. In August and September the town hosts the Mind Festival, the first European festival devoted to creativity. In the plain of the River Magra you can visit the archaeological site of Luni, an ancient Roman settlement and port of shipment for the marble quarried in the Apuan Alps.
Only a few minutes’ drive from Sarzana you reach the sea stretch of the Gulf of Poets and the splendid resorts of Lerici, San Terenzo, Tellaro and Portovenere, facing the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. A little further away the Cinque Terre (Five Lands), the most spectacular coastline stretch of the Ligurian Riviera with its picturesque, quaint villages high up above the sea and surrounded by sheer cliffs and steep slopes with dry-stone low walls and rows of vines, olive and orange groves and winding trekking paths. It takes only a few minutes to enjoy a different scenario and get in touch with the golden sands of Versilia, with Forte dei Marmi and the most exclusive seaside resorts of the Tuscan Riviera, favourite destination of celebrities and tycoons.
If you love excursions, there is a host of interesting places to visit, including the Regional Park of the Apuan Alps, the Regional Park of Montemarcello-Magra, the Natural Park of Portovenere, the National Park of CinqueTerre , as well as the many castles and quaint villages of Lunigiana.
