Splendidly secluded amidst the thick groves and woods of Chiantishire at about 600 metre asl, the Residence is framed by a charming garden with old olive trees. Two former farmhouses lovingly restored in typical Tuscan style feature 11 comfortable rooms that can be individually reserved or else the whole unit can be rented with careful staff availability to provide for breakfast, dinner and room service. All the room are splendidly fitted with working fireplace and large Jacuzzi; they are refinedly furnished with a special touch of elegance from the hand-decorated walls. A bright glass-walled winter garden houses the restaurant, where the cuisine favours local, organic produce for the preparation of excellent dishes (also catering for vegetarian and gluten-free diets). Great care is reserved to consideration for the environment, for energy-saving policies and the use of green energy.

Rooms
The two former farmhouses of the complex feature eleven individually styled rooms, all fitted with fireplace, Jacuzzi LCD TV, telephone and minibar – a few are mansarded and pleasantly overlook the gentle Valdarno hills. Precious furniture, elegance and comfort are the common features of all the accommodation units. The I Castagni (Chestnut Trees) Junior Suite is really special with its wide bedroom (45 sm), independent entrance, living rooms, separate 'grotto' shower and a charming antique double bed. I Pini (Pine Trees) is a large Suite (51 sm) with double bedroom which can be converted into a triple upon reques: its refined elegance is enhanced by the soft hues of decorations and upholstery.
For guests who appreciate privacy Le Acacie (Acacia Trees) double room is the suitable choice: located in the smaller farmhouse it has independent entrance and double access to the garden through French windows. An imposing canopied bed and the carefully chosen yellow shades of furnishings and fabrics alternating with pale floral patterns on green background create an extremely elegant ambience. For guests who wish to enjoy a stunning view Gli Ulivi (Olive Trees) room overlooking the boundless expanse of hills and groves of the Valdarno is the right choice. The double bed Baroque mirror head with a carved wooden frame is a wonder, matched by the wooden beams of the mansarded ceiling and a brick arch leading to the whirlpool bath.
THE RESTAURANT
Tradition, organic produce, fresh genuine ingredients are combined to revive the flavours and tastes of the past for the best dishes of a typical Tuscan cuisine, also thanks to old recipes handed down for generations. Genuine local produce includes organic extra virgin olive oil from the fruits of the olive trees that grow around the Residence. Special diets, including vegetarian and vegan ones, are catered for to suit the individual needs of guests. The chef's cooking classes can also be attended.
Meals are served in the winter garden, a wide bright glass-walled area overlooking the verdant scenery of the Tuscan countryside.
LOCATION
The small town of Cavriglia is still in the Valdarno, although the road winds swiftly towards Chiantishire. The area is picturesque and appealing, with old villages, towers, churches and castles, homeland of excellent wines and great art. On the right bank of the river Arno do not miss a visit to the Sommezzano Villa surrounded by a lovely park, to the Castellano Tower and to the parish church of Cascia in the municipality of Reggello. A few kilometres ahead and you will get to Florence, incomparable jewel of the Italian Renaissance. From Cavriglia you can easily reach all the other art cities and towns of Tuscany, such as Arezzo with the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca and the renowned Antique Fair, as well as Siena, Lucca and San Gimignano, nicknamed the medieval Manhattan, with its many soaring towers.
Then there is the region of Chianti, with its splendid patchwork of vine rows that mark the boundaries of the Pesa, Greve and Elsa valleys. You can sample a glass of Chianti Classico in one of the many prestigious wineries of the area before setting out for a walking, mountain bike or horseback trekking expeditions amidst the green hills.
How to get there
By car: if coming from Floirence or Arezzo: exit Valdarno along the A1 Motorway, then follow indications to Cavriglia, Montegonzi and Le Lappe. If coming from Siena: drive along the SS408 towards Gaiole in Chianti then follow indications to Cavriglia, Montegonzi and Le Lappe.
By train: Montevarchi railway station on the Firenze-Roma railway line (about 10 Km from the Residence) or San Giovanni Valdarno railway station (about 15 Km away).
By air: Firenze airport, about 75 Km away, or Pisa airport
