The splendid travertine portal is an invitation to enter the Todeschini-Piccolomini Palace, which stands out for being the birthplace of Pope Pius III (9 May 1439 - 18 October 1503), nephew of the more famous Enea Silvio Piccolomini, the Pontiff which gave its name to the enchanting Pienza (Pius II). Your visit to the Palace will be accompanied by books of all kinds and in all languages ​​as well as the splendid works of art by the sculptor Mauro Fastelli, which enrich the structure in the form of a permanent art exhibition.

The kitchen
Co-author of two books dedicated to cooking for food intolerances - Recipes Without Nardini Editore series - the owner Chiara Pietrella personally takes care of your culinary experiences at the Palazzo.
Breakfast: Freshly prepared breakfast is always included: our guests can enjoy a savory, sweet or mixed menu with a choice also à-la-carte.
Dinners: On request it is possible to dine in the structure by choosing in advance among the various proposals of the chef.
Aperitifs and tastings: Also on request it is possible to enjoy an aperitif, even in the room, with seasonal delicacies freshly prepared or wine tastings to be agreed with local producers, both at the palace and in the cellar.
Courses: We organize both traditional and specialized cooking classes (vegan, gluten-free, for intolerances, etc…) for small groups, max. 3/4 people.
Surroundings and experiences
Straddling the enchanting Val d'Orcia, with boundless panoramas different in every season, and the more lively Val di Chiana, where the lakes of Montepulciano, Chiusi and Trasimeno stand out, the village of Sarteano is in a strategic position, full of magnificent views and enchanting landscapes.
There are many experiences that, strictly tailored, we can organize for your stay, all different for each season: from mountain and E-bike excursions to horseback riding, from frozen dips in the splendid running water swimming pool (a few steps away from feet from the historic center) during the summer to the pampering of the hot thermal waters in the coldest season, from guided tours to discover Etruscan history to tastings in wineries or farms of the most typical local products, such as wine, oil, cheeses and cured meats.
