Rooms
Unsophisticated yet refined details. Frescoed or exposed beamed ceilings. Warm wooden or old terracotta-tiled floorings. The rooms are brightened by the natural stone and feature large canopied beds wrapped by an atmoshere of pleasant elegance. Three different types of accommodation are available. Most demanding guests can choose the Suites, meant to ensure a fabulous resting haven, which were once a prerogative of the nobility. If you are looking for cosiness and glamour then the Superior rooms are the proper choice. The Classic rooms, with wooden floors and mansarded ceiling or terracotta-tiled floors and exposed beams, are bright, and extremely comfortable.
LOCATION
Set between Brescia and Lake Garda on the main road leading to Mantua, Montichiari is a small town that can boast a rich heritage of history and artistic treasures. The Bonoris Castle and the namesake Social Theatre, a real jewel of Italian theatre dating from the late ninetenth century, are worth a visit. The most important monument, however, is the Parish Church of Saint Pancras that rises on the hills that has the same name a short distance from the historic centre: it was built in the 12th century and has frescoes dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. A tour of the town should include a visit to the Cathedral dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, to the History Museum of Italian Risorgimento, to the Multimedia Archaeological Museum, to the Pasinetti Painting Gallery and to the Giacomo Bergomi Museum dedicated to local rural history.
Lake Garda is just a very short drive away. Desenzano and Sirmione with its thermal waters, are the closest destinations, yet if you wish to spend a somehow different day, you can choose one of the many nearby Theme Parks, such as the Natura Viva Park in Bussolengo or the Sigurtà Garden Park of Valeggio sul Mincio.
Mantua, Bergamo, Cremona and Verona are the nearest art cities that can be reached from Montichiari in less than half an hour's drive.

By car: exit Brescia Est on M4 Motorway, then proceed on SP236 towards Montichiari.
By train: Brescia railway station along Milano-Venezia railway line, about 25 Km from the Residence, or Desenzano sul Garda railway station, about 20 Km from the Residence.
By air: Brescia-Montichiari airport, about 5 Km from the Residence, or
Verona airport, about 50 Km away, or
Bergamo Orio airport, about 70 Km from the Residence.
