Thanks to careful restoration, the Castle's 13 rooms have retained a strong historical character and appear like works of art, with their frescoed ceilings, wooden beams, and intact stone arches. The interiors are embellished with authentic furniture, creating an elegant, refined, and welcoming atmosphere; the walls are adorned with 18th- and 19th-century paintings and prints. Each room is unique, and nothing—walls, embrasures, windows, arches, or passageways—has been altered. Some rooms feature large bathrooms with whirlpool tubs and living rooms with sofas, while the windows offer splendid views of the Umbrian valleys. The rooms at Castello di Petroia are true havens for moments of relaxation and harmony.
Petroia's landscape is ancient; on the horizon, along the valleys between pastures, plowed fields, and woods, clear and luminous landscapes appear; they are the ones that the eyes of Piero della Francesca and Perugino saw and wanted to remain forever imprinted in their paintings. Petroia Castle stands between the hills of Gubbio, Perugia, and Assisi. These historic cities are just a few kilometers away and can all be reached quickly by car.
