Hotel Aegusa is the most historic hotel on the island of Favignana, located in the central Via Garibaldi, pedestrian area near the main square. The Hotel Aegusa, in '800 Palazzo Di Giorgi, has 15 rooms and inside the building there is an enchanting garden, part dedicated to outdoor restaurant and part to relaxation area. In 1999 the hotel was expanded with an annex at 50 mt. 13 rooms with a careful restoration of a building of the Old Tonnare Florio of the early '800. The hotel Aegusa with its annex, recently renovated, is now a charming hotel with comfortable and well-furnished rooms. The careful refurbishment of the hotel highlights the original architecture, the entrance hall with stone staircase, niches, courtyards and vaulted roofs in sandstone favignanese. The restaurant in the garden is the ideal location for events as well as an oasis of taste with typical Sicilian cuisine.

Chef Jean Simonte’s restaurant since 2010 has been selected among the MIGLIO ZERO restaurants of the Regional Province of Trapani to enhance the Trapanese fish product with dishes based on fish caught from local seafood and cooked with products exclusively from territory
Favignana, "The great butterfly on the sea" is the major city and the largest island of the Egadi archipelago. The island was known in antiquity with various names such as Aponiana, Katria, Gilia, AEGUSA in Latin or Auegusa (from the Greek "island of goats" for their abundant presence on the island).
