Domus Socolatae Residenza d'Epoca Charming B&B

After a careful conservative renovation, the "Domus Socolatae Residenza d'Epoca charming B&B", located in the center of Follonica in front of the marvelous Tuscan Archipelago, is now completely renovated, combining tradition and modern technologies.
This welcoming Art Nouveau residence is now also "plastic free" having eliminated plastic from the courtesy set: special steel dispensers have been inserted in the rooms with customized Domus Socolatae branded products. We serve purified water from the aqueduct in special containers and have adopted glass instead of PET both in the various accommodations and for breakfast. Water recycling systems, a photovoltaic system for electricity and a solar system for water heating have also been adopted. We provide guests with special containers for recycling garbage and, upon request and subject to availability, a charging station for electric cars.
We have paid particular attention to "SUSTAINABILITY" understood as a process of change which concerns, in an interconnected way, the environmental, economic and social aspects.
The mission of Domus Socolatae is to help people of any race, ethnicity, gender or skin color to live better, bringing well-being, joy and even dignity into their lives every day through work.
Rita & Massimiliano deal with "diversity" through facts:
- the staff is made up of non-EU employees, of any skin colour, and are also involved in a sustainable economy project in Africa, on the Island of Principe (Sao Tomè and Principe). They believe that every person has the right to live and grow according to their own culture, with the dignity acquired through work
- their reception criterion is also aimed at the LGBTQ+ sector, with stay proposals for same-sex couples. By developing reception policies and adequate service behaviors, they have guaranteed the qualification of "gay friendly accommodation facility".
Diversity, inclusion and equality are values that this, albeit a micro-company, considers crucial for its growth model and personal way of doing business.
The ancient residence, also equipped with a jacuzzi located in the garden, is now suitable for weddings, parties and receptions of all kinds, supported by the kindness and professionalism of Massimiliano and Rita.
In the elegant atmosphere of the 1920s residence it is now also possible to organize micro-weddings, wedding ceremonies and receptions, anniversaries, baptisms, birthdays and engagements. The civil ceremony can be celebrated directly in the Domus Socolatae Residenza d'Epoca - which has also recently assumed the status of Town Hall - being the ideal place to celebrate micro-weddings. Having also taken a stand in the culture battle over gay rights and same-sex marriage, this Mansion can also hold special and intimate LGBTQ+ weddings.
The religious rite can be celebrated in the ancient Chiesa della Ghisa, just 50 meters away, reachable on foot in a wedding procession.
The structure is characterized by an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, typical of the Tuscan tradition of the coast. The traditional design has been deliberately maintained, combined with very personal touches of cheerfulness and refinement, restored and refreshed by local craftsmen in the name of the fight against waste, an eco-design that tries to give a contribution to environmental protection.

Guests of the Domus Socolatae Residenza d' Epoca can take care of both body and mind also through chocolate treatments, upon request and performed directly in some rooms. The active agents in cocoa beans help the extraction of toxins, have lymphatic drainage power, help reduce fat deposits and increase skin elasticity by stimulating collagen. Cocoa butter is an essential cosmetic ingredient with moisturizing, softening and rejuvenating benefits. Chocolate therapy therefore also leaves a pleasant and velvety appearance to the skin as well as an unexpected sense of immediate pleasure, counteracting stress and depression.
