Maison Le Cler
Maison Le Cler is a cozy country house built in the sixteenth century, for those who love being in an environment that smells of history, with old larch and natural stone, perfect for people seeking a romantic weekend. The formula is that of the “chambre d'hote”, with an accurate breakfast service in the morning, made with local products, yogurt from the farm and homemade jams. Maison Le Cler retains all the typical characteristics of ancient mountain houses, with small windows and narrow spaces, with warm furnishings and soft lights. For good food lovers, the hotel has arrangements with local restaurants. In winter, from November to April, customers have free access to the "spa" in Cervinia (15 minutes by car from the house).
Rooms
The alpine style rooms are all different in style and design. Each room has a private entrance, a private bathroom with spa tub and soapstone sinks, independent heating system, free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV.
The warmth of larch, rustic stone walls, attention to details and antique furniture are the special characteristics of the rooms.
LOCATION
Large meadows, flowers, conifer forests and the view of the Matterhorn draw the landscape of Valtournenche. In the valley, during the summer period you can take numerous excursions and treks at high altitude. The Cheneil excursion is one of the most beautiful itinerary: from here you can have a splendid view over Valtournenche and Cervino. The trails leaving from Salette at an altitude of 2.240 m are ideal for mountain biking lovers.
For lovers of skiing the Valtournenche offers a large resort between Mount Roisetta and the Gran Sometta, under the Grandes Murailles chain. At 2.982 meters high in the white summits you can catch a connection to Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt resorts, two of the most renowned winter resorts in the world. If you prefer cross-country skiing, you have to try the runs of Maen and Champlève.
Follow the road to the valley floor to get to Aosta.
The historic city centre is a pedestrian area with a rich historical heritage of the Roman period, the Middle Age and the Renaissance, including the Arch of Augustus, the Amphitheatre and the Cathedral.
Around the city, you can follow the castles cultural itineraries: a trail to discover the over seventy castles of the Aosta Valley. The most frequently visited are Fort Bard, Fénis Castle and Issogne Castle.
How to arrive:
By car: go along A5 motorway to Asti, take the exit marked to Châtillon-Saint-Vincent; follow the signs to Maen.
By train: take Turin-Aosta line and get off at Châtillon-Saint-Vincent railway station, it is about 15 km far from the hotel.
By plane: Aosta Airport is about 40 km far from the hotel, otherwise Turin Airport, is about 100 km away.
