Rocca di Arignano
At the Rocca di Arignano it is as if time had not taken its course and that its signs, instead of impoverishing its structure, have enriched it with charm and a unique atmosphere that can be breathed in every room.
The construction of the castle dates back to the 11th century and was initially used for defensive purposes, but became residential in the 13th century with the addition of a central palace. However, the palace was never completed due to the incursions of Federico Barbarossa and the mercenary Facino Cane, who conquered the Rocca. The building was abandoned until 2016, when the recovery work began. It is possible to discover the fascinating history of the Rocca in one of our guided tours which take place by reservation on Fridays and Saturdays at 11.
Rooms
La Rocca di Arignano has 6 rooms (double – triple – quadruple) of different types. Each room is characterized by the harmony between the original structure of the medieval castle and the new elements brought about by the restoration and by a balance between the bricks that cover the generous heights, the recycled materials, the old ceramics, the wood, the velvets, the studded doors that smell of history, raw iron, boiled wool and linen fabrics.
Staying in these rooms, which have remained uninhabited for 700 years and have come back to life today, allows you to immerse yourself completely in history. And it is inevitable not to try to imagine what everyday life was like within these thick walls.
Everything here speaks a distant and contemporary language at the same time. In these rooms it is possible to relax and immerse yourself completely in the atmosphere of a very distant time. And after a magical night spent within the walls of the Rocca, you will find a rich breakfast waiting for you – perhaps eaten in your room – made up of the natural flavors of products that come from these lands, prepared by our chef especially for you.
