Château des Monthairons

 Built between 1857 and 1859 by the de la Cour family, Château des Monthairons is a grand 4-star hotel located in the scenic Meuse Valley. Having survived both World Wars—serving as an evacuation hospital in 1915 where composer Maurice Ravel played in 1916—the castle has been listed as a historical monument since 1996. Purchased and lovingly restored in 1985 by the Thouvenin family, the chateau offers a timeless world where authentic period features blend seamlessly with contemporary charm.

 Personally managed by the Thouvenin and Pierrat families, the 4-star hotel prides itself on warm, attentive hospitality that makes every stay remarkable. Guests can enjoy elegant breakfasts, fine cocktails on the terrace, or peaceful reading in the historical library.  The property features 25 refined rooms, including elegant duplexes and private apartments. Each accommodation boasts its own unique style and layout, organized into beautifully designed thematic environments (such as Meuse Vallée, Florales Notes, and Esprit Château). Under the direction of Executive Chef Benoît Thouvenin, the chateau's kitchen delivers an exceptional dining experience. The culinary team showcases artisanal expertise, blending classic French techniques with creative modern twists. The seasonal menus highlight authentic regional flavors from Lorraine, paired with an extensive wine list showcasing local appellations alongside selections from neighboring Alsace and Champagne.

The "Nature & Spa" wellness sanctuary is dedicated to natural relaxation and authenticity. Designed to relieve stress and rejuvenate the senses, the facility features a hammam (steam bath), a traditional sauna, and a bubbling whirlpool jacuzzi. Additionally, it includes a dedicated treatment cabin where the resident esthetician offers professional body modelings, facial care, and foot reflexology. The spa is open to both hotel residents and outside guests (restricted to ages 16 and over).
