The construction of a real fortification took place during the early Middle Ages, during the invasions of the Hungarians; then, from 926, it became the seat of a small fiefdom that passed under the control of various Lords, until it was conquered by the Republic of Venice which
Venetian domination brought a long period of peace and, once military functions ceased, the fortress was transformed into a stately building, applying the style of the Venetian villas and creating an interesting, and innovative for the time, 'heating' system.

Today CastelBrando offers 42 classic rooms furnished in historical style with many authentic pieces of furniture;

6 Venetian style junior suites decorated with refined stuccos, suggestive fireplaces and original lead-worked veroni;

2 royal suites with a mezzanine used as a bedroom, which overlooks a large living room with a hideaway kitchenette.
