Sancerre Wine Experience: Cellar & Flavours

A one-hour-and-forty-five-minute day experience, designed to immerse you authentically in the winemaker's craft and discover the art behind the famous wines of Sancerre. The route unfolds through an exclusive guided visit inside the working cellars, where guests are taken through every stage of production, from the meticulous grape harvest to the bottling and final packaging of the precious bottles. The experience culminates in a commented tasting of 5 estate wines, expertly paired with a selection of local specialities and gourmet products. Conceived as a moment of sharing accessible to all, the experience also warmly welcomes the little ones (from age 4), with a fun blind tasting of syrups for a family-friendly sensory adventure.

Rooted in Thauvenay, in the south-east of the acclaimed Sancerre appellation, in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine Éric Louis is a family-run winemaking gem, today led by the fourth generation of vignerons. Founded in the late 19th century by the forebear Pauline — a pioneer who inspired the estate's historic name "Les Celliers de la Pauline" — the property now extends over 35 hectares divided into around 60 plots. Aware of the unique value of its microclimate and an extraordinary geological mosaic of clay, limestone and flint, the estate works under certified Organic Farming, banning insecticides and herbicides in favour of manual, earth-respecting work. Within the walls of the modern traditional cellar, the ancient traditions of the fathers blend with cutting-edge oenological techniques — such as night harvests and biocontrol vinification to reduce sulphites — giving life to pure, easy-drinking wines with a very strong sense of place.
