In the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, at Doade, the Regina Viarum winery looks out over the Sil canyons, one of the most distinctive wine landscapes in Galicia. Here the vines grow on terraces cut into the rock and are worked almost entirely by hand: this is the so-called heroic viticulture, which produces wines of real character from Mencía, Godello and Tempranillo.
The tour, led by the winery's own guides, takes you through the winemaking areas and explains the techniques and stages behind the wines of the Ribeira Sacra appellation. It continues with an audiovisual projection showing the Sil canyons from a perspective that is hard to see otherwise. In the tasting room you will taste five of the winery's wines, with a guided tasting that helps you recognise their differences. The experience ends on the terrace overlooking the river, with a glass of wine and a view over the valley.
