A night on the Grand Canal, a short walk from Piazzale Roma, and an evening of cabaret on the mainland: of the properties in the historic centre, the most convenient for reaching the theatre.
Avanspettacolo is Venice's cabaret dinner show, founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Mauro Furlan, with choreography by Franco Miseria. On Saturday evenings the doors open at 8 pm: a welcome aperitif in the foyer with Valdobbiadene sparkling wine, then from 9 pm a gala dinner in the Theatre Hall, among Baroque decorations, while singers, musicians, dancers and acrobats take turns on stage in an international variety show.
The menu, with a choice of meat, seafood or vegetarian, follows Venetian and Italian cooking: starters, risotto, a main course and tiramisù, with water and local wines included. The evening lasts about two and a half hours. The theatre is on the mainland, in Marghera, so it is worth arranging the journey back before setting out.
