Between Florence and Siena lie the hills of Chianti Classico, the land of the black rooster, whose boundaries were first drawn in 1716. The landscape has barely changed: vineyards and olive groves, cypress-lined roads, fortified villages and villas that are still working farms.
A private driver collects you in Florence and takes you to two estates chosen for their character rather than their size, where the owners or winemakers guide you through the cellars and pour their Chianti Classico, Riserva and Gran Selezione, alongside a Super Tuscan. Lunch is served at the second winery: Tuscan cooking with the estate's wine and olive oil.
You are back at Loggiato dei Serviti by mid-afternoon.
