THE WINERY: Bisson Vini
Founded in 1978 by Pierluigi Lugano and his wife Wally Bisson, the estate was born with the ambitious goal of championing the grapes of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante. Starting from a small shop in Chiavari, Bisson has managed to bring native grape varieties such as Bianchetta Genovese and Cimixià back to life, applying modern winemaking techniques alongside rigorous vineyard management. Famous worldwide for the brilliant idea of the "Spumante degli Abissi" — aged 60 metres deep on the seabed off Sestri Levante — the Bisson winery is today synonymous with excellence, experimentation and a deep bond with its coastal and hillside land.
