Not far from the property is the Vincigliata Castle.
The castle's origins are ancient, with the first mentions dating back to 1301. Over time, it had been owned by the powerful Visdomini and Alessandri families. For eight hundred years, the castle was sold or gambled away between Florence's most important and famous families, until it was almost destroyed.
It was rumored that the castle had secret passages, traps, mysterious rooms, and other devilish features that romantic imaginations had attributed to the Middle Ages. Of all the stories trapped within those walls, John Templar Leader loved the legend of Donna Bianca, a beautiful young woman courted by many men, but in love with the son of her family's worst enemy.
