During the two hours of activity, you will see the queen surrounded by her attendants, the drones and the tiny larvae, and discover how bees communicate with one another and produce their precious nectar. The journey ends with a guided tasting of the farm's organic honeys, including the prized Rhododendron Honey (Slow Food Presidium), expertly paired with a selection of cheeses typical of the Biella area. An opportunity to reconnect with nature and understand the vital importance of pollinators for our ecosystem.
Aperò was born from Alessandro's twenty-year passion, which transformed a hobby into a sustainable way of life in the Biella hills. With over 150 hives located in unspoilt environments (from 400 to 1,200 metres in altitude), Alessandro follows a philosophy of “minimal manipulation and maximum respect”: the honey is extracted by centrifugation, cold-filtered and jarred by hand, always leaving a portion for the bees' own sustenance. The farm is a stronghold of biodiversity, where the meadows left “wild” foster the life of thousands of pollinating insects.
